Fredrick Brennan was recently featured in the New York Times after being the victim of a mugging in NYC. This certainly isn't a rare occasion in the big apple but Brennan's story is different from the norm. Aside of the fact that he is a small statured wheelchair user, his reason for traveling with a significant wad of cash will open your eyes to a shocking reality facing many people with disabilities.
Every guest on "HASH IT OUT With Jane" has shared a thought provoking and compelling personal story. This episode is no different...well, maybe a little different. Robert Platshorn joins me via Skype (because leaving Florida would be a violation of his parole) and shares his tale of selling Vita-Mix blenders, doing 30 years in prison for smuggling Marijuana, becoming an author, and educating senior citizens about the numerous health benefits of using Marijuana aka Cannabis.
On this episode of "HASH IT OUT With Jane," I had the awesome opportunity to chat with Patty Berne, co-founder of Sins Invalid. Patty and I have been trying to connect for about a year now and it was absolutely worth the wait because now, I get to help promote the upcoming Sins Invalid documentary!
This is a really informative, empowering, and exciting episode! Paul Brailer, a disabled Black Belt in Karate, talks about "self defense for the disabled" - Criptaedo. Then, Matt Celeberto explains what WHEELSTRONG SPORTS INC means to athletes with disabilities!
